Saved By Grace

"Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved;)" Eph. 2:5

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Eph. 2:8

Introduction

God saves a person only one way. The way and only way is the marvelous, matchless, grace of God. In Titus 3:4, The Apostle Paul defines grace as "The kindness and love of God, our Saviour, toward man".

  1. Grace of God's unmerited Favor.
  2. Grace of God's undeserved kindness.
  3. Grace of God's approval.
  4. Grace of God's  acceptance.
  5. Grace of God's favor (Toward the sinner because of Jesus Christ, God's beloved Son.)

I. Grace that is not earned

  • This grace that a person receives is something that he cannot and did not earn.
  • This grace is something freely given based upon the work of the Lord Jesus.

II. Grace is not a reward

A reward is given in return for good or evil that is done. If God were to reward man for how we have lived and what we have done, our reward would be eternal punishment.

" For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". Rom. 6:23

III. Grace is that which we do not deserve

  • We do not deserve eternal life
  • We do not deserve forgiveness of Sins.
  • We do not deserve peace with God.

Mercy is what God does not give to the sinner:

  • God's wrath
  • God's punishment
  • God's eternal death & Hell

Conclusion

A grace that is not earned, rewarded, or deserved is given by a Gracious God to only a believing sinner. Christ died for all yet, still all have not received. Would you believe that Christ died and rose again for you and experience this marvelous grace?
